While we only skimmed the surface of the kind of bigoted commentary that marginalized cosplayers see on a daily basis, the consequences for being seen as an "other" can literally be life or death. In 2014, black cosplayer Darrien Hunt was gunned down by police while cosplaying with a $30 display sword. The officers claimed that they felt endangered by him, but video evidence shows that he did not attack. Help us get justice for Darrien Hunt and his family.

This game is so impactful in its simplicity, I go to a lot of cons, both in cosplay and out of it, and I can totally relate to the situation you portaited here. I got a little emotional too, when the show creator asked for a picture with the protagonist.
